The City of Yarra is doing a great job in expanding the bicycle network and making it a safe environment for riders by incorporating the Copenhagen style bike lane.
At Lara, we welcome this approach and are regular users of the bicycle network. And as a user in the creative space, we see things a little differently. As such, we believe there is room to go that little extra step forward.
Adding plants in the otherwise extensive hard street surfaces could contribute to enhance the aesthetics of the streetscape. The proposal provides an improved experience for the active and the passive user, where nature provides a safety barrier. Native plants will endure the local climate so we can make our concrete jungle a little greener!
